Practical Deployment and Purchasing Questions

We've compiled a list of answers to common questions.

Apgile is designed for simple deployment using QR codes, NFC tags, or both.

For a QR-code deployment, the property only needs printed or displayed QR codes. Guests scan the code with their smartphone camera to access the available services.

For an NFC deployment, the property uses passive NFC tags that guests tap with a compatible smartphone. NFC tags do not require batteries, charging, wiring, gateways, or dedicated network equipment.

Staff can manage requests using supported phones, tablets, or computers already available at the property. No specialized guest hardware is required.

Yes. A property can operate Apgile entirely through QR codes, NFC tags, or a combination of both.

Each access point can be configured for a specific room, venue, table, cabana, pool area, or service location. The guest scans or taps, selects the required service, and submits the request from their phone.

This approach allows the property to begin without installing complex equipment or modifying its existing infrastructure.

Smartwatches are optional and are not required to deploy Apgile.

Staff can receive and manage requests through supported devices such as smartphones, tablets, or computers. A property may use smartwatches when they are useful for mobile teams, but they are not necessary for the system to operate.

When a guest submits a request through a QR code or NFC tag, Apgile routes the request in real time to the appropriate staff member or operational team.

The notification can include:

  • The service requested
  • The room, venue, or service location
  • The time the request was submitted
  • The current request status
  • Any information provided by the guest

Routing can be configured according to the type of service, location, department, and escalation process.

Every QR code or NFC tag is linked to a specific location in Apgile.

The location can represent a:

  • Guest room
  • Restaurant table
  • Pool or cabana
  • Meeting room
  • Lounge
  • Beach area
  • Building or floor
  • Housekeeping zone
  • Other defined service point

When a guest scans or taps the access point, Apgile automatically identifies where the request originated. The guest does not need to manually enter or explain the location.

Apgile monitors each request throughout the configured service workflow.

When a request is not acknowledged within the property’s selected response period, the system can escalate it to another staff member, operational team, supervisor, or manager.

The request remains visible until it is acknowledged, completed, or otherwise resolved. This helps prevent guest requests from being lost and gives management visibility into service delays.
